Chicago Regional Chapter Launch.jpg

Organization

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Chicago, IL- July 2016

Immediately upon assuming the position of Operations Analyst with GDIT, I was asked to lead the team responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and executing one of the company's high level membership engagements in the form of the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) Chicago Regional Chapter Launch.

The Chicago Regional Chapter marks the sixth NLSC Regional Chapter for the organization, and I took great pride in delivering on a fantastic opportunity to assemble guest speakers, coordinate with venue points of contact, and invite professional linguists to join us in Chicago for an informative event. I even had an opportunity to serve as master of ceremonies at the event, welcoming attendees and introducing all of the guest speakers while simultaneously sharpening my public speaking skills!

This is just one of the many engagements that I would go on to serve as the project manager for, ensuring that the organization met it contractual goal to execute quarterly events in each of its seven Regional Chapters including New York, NY Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, CA, Honolulu, HI, Stuttgart, Germany, Chicago, IL, and Houston, TX.

Tampa, FL Meet & Greet Event

Outstanding Quality

LEADERSHIP

Tampa, FL- October 2017

As Operations Analyst and Supervisor of Interactions and Engagements, I was also tasked with leading a diverse team of employees dedicated to the planning, coordination, and execution of what the organization referred to as "Meet & Greet" events. The event pictured above happens to be a Tampa, FL Member Meet & Greet.

These events afforded me the perfect opportunity to sharpen my leadership skills, demonstrating professional level management of the day-to-day tasks of support staff and their efforts leading up to the successful execution of membership engagement such as "Meet & Greets".

I lead the coordination and planning of at least one "Meet & Greet" event every other month, traveling from city to city- including Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, and many more to engage and educate volunteer members of the National Language Service Corps (NLSC).

Texas Regional Chapter Launch

Truly Top-Notch

ENGAGEMENT

Houston, TX- February 2017

I was excited to help GDIT reach another contractual obligation when I lead the research behind identifying the location of the organization's newest Regional Chapter in Houston, TX. Similar to my debut as Supervisor of Interactions and Engagements at the Chicago Regional Chapter Launch back in July of 2016, I lead my team in the successful planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of the Houston, TX Regional Chapter Launch, marking the seventh Regional Chapter for the organization.

Serving as the master of ceremonies for the program on multiple occasions, including this one, I had yet another opportunity to showcase my coveted public speaking abilities. More importantly, I once again took the lead on engaging members and educating them on the program.

Hosting many events while with the organization has immensely increased my knowledge and experience with delivery of superb customer service and top-notch engagement. I do not shy away from a crowd and I thoroughly enjoy getting to know people and identifying ways to help.

PROFESSIONAL PROJECT

November 2017-April 2018

I oversee all interactions and engagements (hints the alternative title- Supervisor of Interactions and Engagements) at The National Language Service Corps (NLSC), a federal government contract comprised of a volunteer-based professional linguist membership.

One of the most rewarding projects I've had the privilege of helping the organization I currently work for accomplish was the launch and execution of its 10 Year Anniversary Campaign. I was instrumental in the effort to plan, coordinate, and implement various elements of what would eventually become a tremendous success story.

My team and I came up with a game plan to get the word out to our membership. We started with refreshing the organization's logo. Next, we developed our approach to marketing. We would go on to generate a press release, update the organization's website and employee email signatures to reflect the new branding. Then, we started planning commemoration events in each of our Regional Chapters, including Honolulu, HI (image from the event featured above), Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, and of course Washington, D.C.

These events were highly successful membership engagement opportunities that I truly enjoyed organizing for GDIT. If interested, please take a look at the gallery which features group images from each of these successful events where we highlighted the anniversary theme of "Volunteering in the Community in Times of Disaster and National Need", focusing on member's engagement as volunteers as well as NLSC milestones over the last 10 years. Did I mention that we went on to produce an anniversary themed newsletter alongside a social media campaign that would increase member participation by more than 60% to close out the campaign?
